Gator Train - What a great week!

From Nicole Franks and Meghan Davis, Gator Train Instructors:
Today the red and green tomatoes celebrated the end of the week with some sprinkler and water balloon play with Miss Davis! With Miss Franks they made butterflies. They also learned about and pretended to be bees. We finished the day with a special treat of Popsicles!

A Day in Photographs

Sometimes words can't even describe how much fun we have at camp....

We hope to see you next week, but if not we hope you have a fantastic rest of the summer!

Channel 56 SURVIVES the Night at Butler!

Survivors enjoyed a challenging 2 1/2 hour canoe trip yesterday afternoon. The weather was beautiful and the girls persevered despite low water levels on the river. They spent just as much time in the river pulling their canoes as they did rowing!

After the canoe trip, campers enjoyed a cookout and playground time before heading back to camp. They set up their tent sites, enjoyed a campfire with s'mores and watched a movie before heading to bed.
A good night's sleep was had by all. Chocolate chip pancakes and fruit gave them renewed energy before camp began this morning. New challenges await as the girls finish their week of Survivor!

Gator Train's Great Day!

From Nicole Franks and Meghan Davis, Gator Train Instructors:
Today the red an green tomatoes made leaves with plastic and tissue paper with Miss Franks. They also read a book an played games during creative movement. The tomatoes ended the day with a story and planting sunflower seeds in the pots they painted earlier in the week! Just a reminder, we will be doing water play tomorrow so please send the kids already in a swim suit. In their backpacks please include a towel, plastic bag (for the wet bathing suit), and a dry change of clothes.

Daring Artists Sketch and Paint

After a nice morning at the pool the Daring campers were off being creative.  First they ventured off into the woods to sketch and draw.  Lots of campers decided to create a comic strip, which turned out to be a lot of fun!  Other campers decided to enjoy the cool shade of the woods by just drawing some pictures.  After lunch they took a long hike on the way back to the lodge.  You would be surprised how much cooler it is in the woods!  Upon arrival back to the lodge, they finshed off their pinatas by painting them in very colorful ways!  Tomorrow the boys and girls are all really excited to fill them with candy and have a shot at trying to break them open!  Finally at the end of the day, they headed up to the sprinklers to cool off.  What a fun day!

MTH Stays Cool

After a dip in the pool this morning the Mona Lisas were back to camp busy listening to a chapter in Monday with a Mad Genius and writing or drawing in their journals they made earlier in the week.  Although today was so hot, campers stayed cool after lunch by running through the sprinklers and playing on the playground.  And by running through, I mean getting completely soaked!  The sprinklers are so much fun no matter how old you are (the counselors run in them too!)  The creek is really a favorite spot of these campers this week!  They spent some of the afternoon splashing around in it's cool waters.

Despite such a fun day, I know we are all looking forward to going home to some nice air conditioning!
