Welcome to GLEE!
From Sally Hacala and Dave Meyer, GLEE Instructors:
The day began with a series of ice breakers and name games so that our 30 enthusiastic GLEE girls (some familiar faces and many new faces!) could get to know each other a little better - ESP, charades and the trading game were all big hits!
We then moved to a team building low element - the Mohawk Walk. The girls have to walk along a cable (with the help of a rope), swing between two trees and then complete the element by walking across another cable, this time without the help of a rope. Sound easy? I forgot to mention that their feet can never touch the ground :)
After lunch, we did another low element - Nitro Crossing. The girls had to swing from one platform to one much smaller platform (about 18 inches square) and try to keep seven girls on the smaller platform at all times. This was voted "most favorite low element" at the end of the day.
The remainder of the day was filled with two more low elements and a craft. The girls went home tired but looking forward to tomorrow when they will have the opportunity to try a high element or two, some for the very first time!
