The Daring Camp for Boys and Girls: Dare to be a Detective! is broken into two groups this week. The first group who goes by The Daring Detectives is led by Nicole Nanchoff, a primary teacher at Laurel School, and Andrew Horner, a college student at Hobart in New York. The second group, who calls themselves Sherlock Holmes, is led by Ray Rossman, a science teacher at Laurel school, and Rory O'Shaughnessy, a recent Laurel graduate. Both groups did Project Adventure today. They started off by doing some team building games- one in particular challenged the campers to line up by birthday without using any words. They both got to try the elements called Nitro Crossing and the Wobbly Woosie.
Along with Project Adventure, they also spent some time hiking, working on detective badges and notebooks and also writing in code!
We will swim tomorrow morning. Campers should wear bathing suits to camp and bring a towel! After swimming, we will have our field trip to the Russell Police Station. There we will tour and see what it takes to be a real detective. Following our tour we will take our lunches to the West Woods to have a picnic style lunch and perhaps a hike!
See you then!
