Today was the first day of the Daring Camp for Boys and Girls: Dare to be an Olympian week! The group this week is led by Nicole Nanchoff, a teacher and Soccer coach at Laurel School, Rory O'Shaughnessy, a recent Laurel graduate and Christy Cardellini, a Laurel alumna and recent college graduate. The day was off to a fun start as they played some getting to know you games before embarking out into the woods for Project Adventure, led by Chuck Allen. Project Adventure is a team building activity, that uses the low elements we are fortunate to have at our Butler Campus. The kids are challenged by choice, to work together as a team to perform certain tasks. They are taught safety in the form of spotting and communication. The Daring campers also spent time today doing wacky Olympic games that everyone had fun with! Another highlight was making flags!
Tomorrow is swimming. Please remember to wear your bathing suit under your clothes to camp and bring a towel and change of clothes!
Stay tuned!
